Hot Jazz meets Cold War in Hipsters! Members of the Soviet youth subculture stilyagi—ffans of American jazz, culture and fashion—-are perceived as ‘enemies of the people’ and hounded by Komsomol shock troops. The film combines music numbers with satire and social commentary. Love, friendship, betrayal, being different—everything we all can relate to across time and cultures clashes in this stylish dramedy.
