Director Mariette Monpierre will also lecture on her native Guadeloupe and her experience as a Caribbean woman filmmaker at 3:30pm in the Student Union Theater.Refreshments provided between the lecture and the film.
Filmed on location in Paris and the French West Indies, Elza explores the emotional journey of a young Parisian woman who returns to her native island of Guadeloupe in search of the father she has never known. Winner of the Paul Robeson Award for Best Picture of the Diaspora at the 2013 FESPACO (Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso)
